FESTIVAL OR BUSINESS?

Hindu religion is the
religion of various beliefs and myths!
The Hindus have various
idols and deities to worship.
In today's era I donot know
how many of us -
worship out of passion?
but I must say,nowadays
I have seen the widescale commmercialisation
related to this religion!

We say that Lord Vishwakarma
is the Lord of industries and engineers.
Hence being the resident of the
emerging industrial belt of Bengal
I have seen the craze
among people to celebrate
this festival.

On the 'D' day  while the sound boxes
are shouting at the top of their voices
with rocking music-
the traffic polices are standing
at every nooks and crannies
of the street.
They are catching hold of the motor -bike
riders at random,demanding fifty rupees
(with or without reason)at minimum!
The rest of the year they maintain
the traffic decorum
at their homes!
And accidents occur
 under one's nose

The pubs earn the maximum
profit these days-
Shouldn't the government make this day
"A DRY DAY"?
The decorators, the pubs
the traffic police must be
waiting with all their lives
for these days to come!

WAKE UP INDIA!
IT was thirtieth december.
The day when our eyes had opened ajar!
"What's going on all around ?"
cried every person in every town!

A young girl in the early
walks of her life-
had to passby from this materialistic
world to the heavenly abode-
to rest in peace.
Dumbstruck were the college ,school-goers
the teachers,the heads of companies!

Shocked were the mothers while-
the fathers....they aroused the question-
"was it a good time
for her to quit from life"?

"Why not punish them ,
who had sexually harassed her"?
the teens had raised their -
voices in unison.

But dear reader who cares?
The media does its dutyby flashing
the news in the newspapers!
The political readers are extremely
methodical in conducting their lectures!

As time passes by every body forgets
this incident without demanding any punishment
yet being aware that this incident may take place
again and again and again and again!

Dear reader let's come forward
and join our hands together!
Why should we keep any barrier
when we all bear the same tricolour!
How long will the girls continue to fight
for their living rights is the only question-
 that haunts my mind!
